Enchanted Garden Lighting

One of the most elegant and entertaining garden decors is that of the enchanted garden. These gardens consist of whimsical statues of gnomes, frogs, fairies and nymphs, and generally include a wide range of colorful and interesting wild flowers.

According to folklore, gnomes are protectors of the earth and the rich treasures which lie beneath the soil. Gnomes are very popular and can be found in a variety of styles and sizes. Gnome solar lights are a unique way to add decorative lighting to an enchanted garden design. Adding a gnome to your garden can bring you good luck and an abundance of healthy and hearty plants. Gnomes are a "must-have" for every enchanted garden.

Fairies are known to bestow gifts upon people they are attracted to. Folklore has depicted fairies as malicious pranksters who abduct babies and the elderly. However, William Shakespeare altered people's perception of these whimsical creatures, when he portrayed them as harmless and fun-loving in A Midsummer's Night Dream.

Today, fairies are a favorite design element for an enchanted garden. There are many varieties of garden fairy statues. One of the most practical designs includes the use of solar lighting. Garden fairy statues range in size from small nymphs of 4-inches in height, to adult fairies of 15-inches or more. Many garden fairy statues include a gazing ball or crystal ball.

Angels are a favorite for many gardeners, particularly those who create enchanted garden settings. Angels are a natural in this type of setting and are available in a variety of styles and sizes. Many people enjoy using angel cherubs; while others prefer a more "adult" version.

One popular style of angel includes an elegant angel resting with her head placed on a solar ball. In the evening, the solar ball glows and emits a beautiful, soft light that almost appears as a halo around the angel.

Another version of this enchanted garden lighting angel includes a serene angel who is holding a solar ball in her hands, outreached, as if she is presenting it as a gift. The solar ball emits an amber hue in the evening; making the angel look very angelic.

For many cultures, the frog is a symbol of good luck. In other cultures it is symbolic of fertility. The Chinese keep a three-legged toad in their homes as a symbol of riches. As you can see the frog can bring luck in many areas and is a perfect addition to the enchanted garden.

Gardeners can find a variety of frog statues and frog garden lights. These lights are generally solar powered and emit a white or amber hue. Some frog garden lights include colored LED lights or plastic panels, which allow the user to create different mood lighting.
