Using Plants To Redecorate The Home On A Small Budget

People who are tired of coming home to the same environment every day might want to do something to change it. This doesn’t always mean buying new furniture and throwing out the old. A person can rearrange the furniture to create a different appearance. New tablecloths can be purchased and the chairs can be reupholstered if needed.

If a person doesn’t know where to start, the use of decorating magazines and other interior design articles posted on the web can serve as a guide. After the desired information has been collected, it is time to add some spice by adding a personal touch.

A person should keep in mind that that there are no right or wrong answers to redecorating; this is what it makes the home unique from others.

One good example is the use plants to fill empty spaces in the home. They should be in nice pots and placed so that natural or artificial light can help them bring life into the room.

A spiky palm (dracaena) can be purchased from a local nursery or gardening department of a store and placed in the corners. Since these are not hard to maintain, it will be easy for those in the house to water and care for.

Plants such as ferns can be hung in baskets and with lights intertwined can serve as a chandelier.

Those who not to have living plants in the living room can choose to use artificial ones. Most people will not know if they are real or artificial, especially from a distance. Artificial plants are inexpensive and easy to maintain; just dusting them will keep them looking good.

There are several benefits to using plants in the living room. As well as being decorative, studies have shown that they freshens and improve the quality of air in the room. Plants absorb carbon dioxide and release oxygen into the atmosphere: some species are capable of absorbing toxins that are potentially harmful to humans.

Plants are thought to bring good luck. Some superstitious beliefs such as Feng Shui presume that plants can help improve a person’s business and personal affairs.
